This includes an onsite evaluation of your facilities environmental design with emphasis on crime prevention.

Evaluation of Procedures

Evaluation of the current Operating Procedures with focus on Safety & Security to determine an organization’s liability exposure.

Onsite Assessment

An onsite evaluation of the church’s safety before & during service times, accessing the vulnerability of your attendees & guests to threats. This inludes the safety & security of any children’s areas.

Standard Operating Guidelines

Writing a set of Safety/Security Team Standard Operating Guidelines specifically designed for your organization.

Training Programs

Basic Safety/Security Training

God is our Provider. Is there is a need for church security; identifying a threat and dealing with emotionally disturbed persons; communication tactics, the art of gaining voluntary compliance. (8 hours)

Active Shooter Training

Airsoft Training for armed personnel. (4 hours)

Basic Firearms Training

Fundamentals of shooting, conceal carry options & requirements, failure drills (using snap caps, no live ammunition allowed). (4 hours)

Firearms Training & Qualifications

Includes live fire exercises, failure drills, & a fire arms qualification. (8 hours) *Student must bring 400 rounds of ammunition for their personal weapon & 5 snap caps.

Student Training Requirements

Each Training Class will require a minimum of ten (10) students unless preauthorized by Denton Instructional Group LLC. The fee for each student will be the responsibility of the student or the organization the student represents. The sponsoring organization is responsible to provide classroom space, coffee, and water. (Snacks are not required, but appreciated). Any organization outside of the greater Kansas City area booking the Firearms Range Training must provide a suitable Firing Range that allows for shooting from 20 yards. For the Basic Firearm Training and the Firearms Range Training, each student must provide a minimum of five snap caps (dummy rounds) for their personal weapon and 400 rounds of ammunition.

Roger DentonRoger Denton

Roger is the Chief Executive Officer and owner of Denton Instructional Group LLC. 

Roger is a retired thirty year veteran of Law Enforcement. He holds a Missouri POST Generalist Instructor Certification, and an Instructor Certification from the Texas Commission Law Enforcement Standards and Education. He also is a POST certified Firearms Instructor and Emergency Vehicle Operation Instructor.

Roger is an Adjunct Instructor for the MCC Blue River Police Academy, teaching classes in Crime Scene Investigations, Criminal Investigations, and is the former Subject Matter Expert for Domestic Violence Investigation. Roger is an NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Instructor, an NRA certified Chief Range Safety Officer, and also holds certifications as a Missouri CCW Instructor.

Roger has an AA in Criminal Justice from Kansas City Metropolitan Community College, and a BA in Management and Human Relations From Mid America Nazarene University.

However, Roger’s passion is to provide others with the tools necessary to protect our houses of worship, businesses, and homes. Roger is the Safety Ministry Team Coordinator for Legacy Christian Church (LCC), a multi-campus church with campuses in both Kansas and Missouri. As Team Lead, Roger works with a group of dedicated protectors (Sheep Dogs) to provide a safe, secure, and peaceful worship time for LCCs members and attendees.

Denton Instructional GroupJohn Ross

John Ross, is a retired, 21 year Air Force veteran with 13 years of experience as a Response Force Leader, Entry Controller, Sensor Operator, Flight Sergeant, and Police Instructor with the Air Force Security Police/ Security Forces.

He holds certifications as a Master Instructor, Occupational Instructor, Texas Law Enforcement Instructor, NRA Rifle and Pistol Instructor and Range Safety Officer.

He is level 4 security operations trained and holds degrees in Industrial Security (AA), Instructor of Technology and Military Science (AA), Education and Training Management (AA), and Human Resource Development (AA, BS, MA).

John is the son of missionaries and has been an active member of the Churches where ever assigned, serving in a variety of positions.

He has been a member of Legacy Christian Church since 2007 where he has served as a Sunday School Teacher, Small Group Leader, Offering Count Team Member, and Safety Team Member.

Wally Burkart

Wally is a U.S. Navy veteran where he was a Certified Range Master. Wally is also retired after 36+ years of service to the Federal Government.

He brings with him a wealth of firearms training and a commitment to one basic concept – teaching the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for owning and using firearms safely. He has over 25 years of combined experience training civilian and military personnel.

Wally’s vast amount of time spent at the firing range show in the quality of his training. His personal, one-on-one range training sessions are unsurpassed and his training techniques make classes enjoyable as well as informative.
